The first day of Chinese New Year is on January 26, 2009, this is the first day of new moon and the first day of the first Chinese lunar month. It is a day equivalent to 1 January for western civilization.
that day also marks a change of energy and as we are immersed in this culture of Feng Shui, we can use and celebrate family. Any activity that puts our minds and positive mood can not hurt us.
These rituals have been for millennia in this culture which in my view gives them a spiritual power.
Celebrating Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, also known as "年 兽 Nian." What is Nian? According to legend thousands of years ago there was a fierce monster named Nian that between the first and fifteenth day of each lunar month, down from the mountains to eat the people.
During these days the locals were locked in their homes, until a wise old man thought the people were afraid it was empowered by the monster and persuaded them to fight and frighten him with the sound of drums, bells, burning incense. On a cold night, the monster Nian, appeared again and was forced back by the noise that everyone in the village generated. The monster ran up beaten down by people.
All their ferocity was not enough against a united people to fight. Since then, Chinese people have kept this beautiful tradition of the spring festival to celebrate the new year and keep the demons away from their homes. Currently Nian refers to the day of the New Year or Spring Festival
What do before the new year?

· family dinner and stay up to welcome the new year. Food must be based on seafood. The table is preferably round to ensure that our family relationships are ever perfect. To the Chinese people round means perfection and eternity.
• To exchange money in red envelopes to members of the family, which symbolizes our wishes for good fortune for the new year. The amount of money in the envelope must be an even number that represents good luck.
what to do and what not to do on 26, New Year's Day?
